They allow us to prevent dirty plates and dishes accumulating on our tables and surfaces, meaning our kitchen is tidier when preparing meals or welcoming guests. However, it’s really important that we pay attention to the cleanliness of our machines. When cleaning plates and other kitchen utensils, the dishwashers are of course exposed to dirt, meaning limescale accumulates over time. Vinegar and bicarbonate - a dishwasher cleaning miracle

One of the first solutions that springs to mind when it comes to dishwasher cleaning using natural products is the use of vinegar and baking soda. Firstly, you must remove the bottom rack of the dishwasher and make sure there is no residue. After carefully removing any residue here, you can put the bottom rack back and get started with the actual cleaning. Pour some white vinegar into a bowl or measuring jug, and place on the bottom rack. Then, simply run the machine using the hottest and shortest settling. The vinegar will help to remove any oily stains, mould or bad odours.

When you’ve finished this and the dishwasher cools down, remove the bottom shelf again and pour some baking soda into the base of the machine. Run the dishwasher again on the same settings. This will hopefully destroy any dirt or odours that the vinegar wasn’t able to remove.

Dishwasher cleaning using Arabic soap

If you want to remove dirt and bad odours from the dishwasher without actually running it, you can try this. You can apply either liquid or solid Arabic soap to a wet cloth. Then you can simply clean the dishwasher by wiping the racks and inner surfaces with the cloth. Finally, you can dry off the racks and internal surfaces of the dishwasher with paper towels.
